Sharing Reports - AUGUST, 2020

On Line Sigma

Online Sigma has held their meetings each month as normal with regular attendance.   We also have had a monthly chat session using Google Meet.  We have enjoyed seeing our sisters and just chatting.  We have scheduled them for the first Wednesday of each month.   We hope as time goes on more of our sisters will be able to join the chats!

Oue program last month was regarding the Covid virus -- how we are doing in our area, how we are keeping safe, and how it has affected us.  Unfortunately,  some of our members know someone with the virus..  Lots of prayers are being sent.

Praying everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Beta hugs,

Chris

On Line Eta

We have been busy with adding members and enjoying ZOOM socials on Saturdays.

We added land chapter members from GA that wanted to be a part of Online, too.  We have one new pledge from NY and will be training her.  And, we have a retired division chairman amongst us now.

Our ZOOM social included Canadians, US Sisters AK, GA, TX, KS, MO, FL and one in Germany.  She had to get up at 10 PM to chat.

We had an awesome program on FAIRY GARDENS AND FAIRY DOORS.

Our new Facebook Page is rocking and rolling.

Hope everyone has an awesome Beginning Day even online.

MAY

Program for May was on Scrapbooking & was most appropriate since May was National Scrapbooking month & 2 of our champion scrapbookers presented it.  There are so many types, soft & hard covers as well as digitals.  They also shared what the best type of paper, trims & accents are best and what  & why we need to know the difference

Social had us on jet to a neat lounge to dance the night away and of course with a fabulous buffet, fancy drinks and sharing of many "You Tubes" of our favorite dances thru the years

Service project was about Mother's Day and the many ideas we can do to honor our Mothers such as a special visit or phone call or memorials such as planting a tree in their memory.

We welcomed New Member Kerrin

JUNE

Program for June was the--- WHO gives a program?   WHAT is a program?  WHY do we have a program?  WHERE do I present a program?  WHEN do we have a program?    HOW do I present a program?

Service

think of things to do to help others during this pandemic.  If you are fortunate enough to be comfortable financially consider monetary donations to the local organizations that are feeding the families of those out of work.  If you sew there is still a need for masks.  We all need more than one mask.  If you go to the grocery, see if others that can't get out would like you to pick up items & drop off for them.

JULY

Our program was The Dog Breeds for our Zodiac Signs.  Like reading your daily horoscope, it was fun to see if the dog for your sign was truly "on target".with your personality.

Service project was Summer safety tips & simple ways to help stay safe & enjoying outdoor activities.  Many home fires are caused by grills so reduce the risk.  Nearly 9000 home fires a year are caused by grills or barbecues. Reduce the risk of fire by keeping the grill clean, placing it outside away from your home and any wooden decks or wood piles, and keeping an eye on the grill while it's in use or still hot.  Pools, trampolines and fire pits have become common fixtures in many backyards, all can be harmful if used improperly. Make sure your guests are supervised when enjoying these amenities, and keep all gates thoroughly latched while you're away from the area.  Last but not lest, Protect your skin by ensuring that your sunscreen includes full-spectrum protection from both UVA and UVB rays. Also, look for eco-friendly, biodegradable sunscreen to help keep chemicals off your skin and out of the water to avoid potential harm to wildlife.

As mentioned before, on a sad note, we lost our beloved Julia G

On Line Kappa

OLKappa has had an eventful couple of months. We’ve welcomed Laura, Lori, and Teresa as new sisters to our chapter. We are so excited to have them with us!

We also celebrated THREE members moving up and had their rituals. It’s been such a delight to stand by these sisters as they’ve celebrated their achievements.

We have also implemented a new activities committee in charge of planning activities for our chapter. Currently we are working on a clutter club, book club, and chapter recipe collection.

Through programs, we have also learned about several interesting places.

June 2020 -- 25 Things You Might Not Know about Birds in Your Backyard by Angel

July 2020 -- Albertosaurus in Drumheller by Pam

August 2020 -- All American Girls Professional Baseball League by Pam

We are also going to be celebrating beginning day at the end of this month!

On Line Theta

Theta has been celebrating and remembering the joys of Beta Sigma Phi.  We had a wonderful Founder's Day at Outback Steakhouse.  Since it was virtual, we enjoyed their vast menu and ordered desserts.  A good time was had by all.

We have a new president, Cheri.  A lot of our other officers stayed the same.  Our correspondence secretary makes sure that our birthdays and there notable events are remembered.  She even sends a chapter birthday card to each of us!

We continue to go to the GreaterGood.com site and click at all of the sites.  They used to restrict you to clicking once a day but now you can do multiple clicks.

We have had several visitors and have greatly enjoyed them.  We have a book report/review at each meeting as well as a program.  We have definitely been busy.

We are currently planning a fun Beginning Day.

hugs, Arlene
