We enjoyed guest visitors from land chapters over the summer. Karen I. and Sue M. did their programs in the 50 Years Young and Beyond category.

10 Things to Know Before You Change Your Life- PROGRAM

Trust Yourself, Size Doesn't Matter, Learn the Power of Lettering Go, Drop the Game Face, Put Your Money Where It Counts, Don't Worry About What People Think, Practice Before Trying Something New, God Isn't In the Details, Reinvention Does Have a Fast Track, Single People Aren't the Heroes - You Are, & REINVENTION ISN'T A TREND, IT'S A REVOLUTION after 50.

OUR NOT SO FAITHFUL MAIL LIST

Yahoo Groups is still keeping members from viewing and posting e-mails. The chapter lost sisters in participation and activity because of the mail list road blocks. If the RS (Karen) is aware of the problem, she merely cc 's each missing member. The missing members forward responses to Karen to post to the list.

JOYS & CONCERNS AMONG THE MEMBERSHIP

Stacy's twin boys graduated from high school, and she and hubby sold the childrens childhood home not long after that in order to rebuild a new one. Donna is heading to Oxford ENGLAND to study abroad. Kutrina and Margaret suffered losses in May/June, and our love and hearts go out to them both. Kutrina vacationed in Mexico with family and shared pictures. Lucy is still recovering and doing well as is Cathy. Susan V.'s land chapter is having a pool party and cookout, and she and the family are recovering from colds after vacations. Ann is recovering from 3 broken toes and fractured foot from moving items. Jennifer is enjoying the summer off with her newborn son. Margaret welcomes their first grandchild, Myla, and celebrates her son-in-laws, Phd graduation in physical therapy. Judy enjoyed her sister-in-laws visit this summer. Karen I. has been asked to write an article for her health clubs national magazine and summer contest on her workout regime and journey over a 10 year span.

Wishing all of you a HAPPY 4th in the US and Independence Day in Canada from your OLETA sisters.

Karen I., Rep.

On Line Beta

We had our installation of officers in May in Online Beta. After our new officers took over they starting working on planning things for the coming year and getting the committees set up for the year.

Our new officers are as following:

President Valerie D
Vice President: Liz C
Recording Secretary: Dianne K
Treasurer: Rebecca S

After our June meeting our program was: If one of your OLB sisters came to visit you, what would you like her to see, to experience in your city, state?

Is there a special place - to see, to have a meal, to experience?

Would you take her sightseeing, to dinner, to meet family/friends, etc.

Does your city have special landmarks; do you live in the country; is there a special festival you attend; etc.

In OLB we have sisters from various states/provinces:

Alabama; Alaska; Alberta; Arizona

British Columbia

California; Colorado

Florida

Georgia

Illinois

Kansas; Kentucky

Louisiana

Montana

New Mexico

Ontario; Oregon

Pennsylvania

Rhode Island

South Carolina

Tennessee; Texas

Utah

Virginia

Washington; Wisconsin

Wouldn't it be fun to visit our sisters? Perhaps some of our OLB sisters will invite us!

Please sisters, invite us to your area - we would love to get to know you better as we are Forever Friends. Tell us about one of your favourite places to visit, to dine, to play. This proved to be a very interesting program as we all learned a little bit about each other and where we lived.

Our social for the month was a Progressive Dinner. However, it will be unique in that it is not like the usual progressive dinner. Rather than going to members' houses for each course, we, being in the virtual world, will be going to different places in our President’s area for each course. (just another way to 'get to know' each other). This program as well we learned about our new president and other members of the chapter who lived close by:

We also had many recipes shared and craft projects.

Beta Hugs,

Kandy, Nancy, and Madonna

On Line Kappa

Good Sunday afternoon sisters. I hope all of you have had a lovely weekend. My personal weekend was busy as my youngest daughter was married Friday; yesterday we had a great cookout and both our family and the groom's family had a very nice day visiting and eating yummy food.

Online Kappa did not have elections of officers this year so our officers are the same:

Karen -president

Erica-vice-president

Dean Ann-recording secretary

Carrie-treasurer

Erica has been conducting new member training and we had one member rejoin our group after taking a leave to finish her college classes.

We recently enjoyed a program about the Stanley and Mildred Rosenbaum house in Florence, Alabama which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is the only home he designed that was built in Alabama. This program was presented by Sandra who lives in Alabama. We also had a wonderful social presented by Coco where we visited Lithia Park in Ashland, Oregon-it made us all wish to visit Coco who lives in Oregon.

Our chapter has also had a couple of recent visitors; we hope they will come back to visit another meeting and hopefully chose to join us.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary K.

Online Kappa has been enjoying our summer programs and fun socials as well as planning for next year's activities. I know I have been feeling thankful for my health and family more so than usual because we lost a former member of our group- Julie passed away after a battle with kidney disease. We also have a former member, Judy, who is fighting a battle with an aggressive cancer. One of our current members, Beth had some surgery and has had a set back requiring a stay in a rehab hospital. We also have members staying busy with their children and grandchildren's activities. Always much to be thankful for in our lives if we stop and think about it.

We hope each every one of you is enjoying your family and all our sisters in Beta Sigma Phi!

Be well,
Mary

The sisters of OLP hope you had a great 4th of July...

We are keeping the same officers this year:

President: Kathy S.
Vice President: Rose K.
Recording Secretary: Cheryl K.
Corresponding Secretary: Jean T.
Treasurer: Marcia H.

Membership: Dee L, a former member of On Line Psi, returned from member-at-large status last month. We were pleased to welcome her back. Our current pledges, Bliss and Ann, are eligible for their Ritual of Jewels degrees and will receive them in July. Our two visitors from last month have made their decisions... Ivy will join a land chapter in her area, and Chloe will join OLP. In July, Chloe will receive her pledge ritual and begin pledge training.

Social: Lib took us to a cyber baseball game this month. We watched the Cleveland Indians play the Pittsburgh pirates. After the game, we watched fireworks along the river. It was fun!

Service: We continue to click the free website to donate to worthy causes.

Book Club: Lib discussed a current book she is reading... "Cool, Calm and Contentious" by Merrill Markoe. It is a collection of short essays, ideal for summer reading.

Recipe: Lib posted a great recipe for "Easy Marinated Chicken." It's a copy cat version of Cracker Barrel grilled chicken tenderloin.

Beta Hugs,
Rose

President Report

"Welcome to this last meeting of the BSP year for 2014-2015. It also coincides with the date OnLIne Delta was formed in May 1998. So this chapter is now 17 years old. Can you believe how time flies what memories have been created over all those years? Let’s drink a toast to the many more years ahead we will enjoy in Beta Sigma Phi friendship and support. "–Val

Programs

May
Our Program was most appropriately about Mothers Day. We were asked if we had a special memory of our mother, how we celebrated Mothers Day, and if we had a daughter how her family celebrated this special day.

June
We were reminded how the best programs are those that make us discover more about one another. The leading question was "What sparks you to look deeper?" We delved "deep" to find answers and to share them "Among Our Forever Friends."

Service

May
Other things a Homeowner Should Know When They Travel:

Keep your garage door locked. Know where your shut off valves our for water and electricity and do so if needed. Note if there is any indication of mold or a leak and take measures to correct before it becomes a nightmare. Don't file an insurance claim unless it is $1,000 over your deductible.

June
Two subjects were presented this month. The first reminded us about how we can attend to simple ideas to engage our positive thoughts such as listening to music, making list of tasks, taking short breaks, expressing gratitude and giving hugs to improve our physical well-being.

The second was how to protect your hearing and a new tech telephone that projects speech on to a TV for those who are hearing impaired.

Membership

Our OLD Woman of The Year was our VP Lucille who added 6 new members to our roster this year. She took our theme to heart and "Expanded our OLD Family Tree of Friendship" to form many new branches of friendship. She certainly deserved to be honored for this important addition to our Sisterhood. We had several members take Ritual Degrees and 3 new members were given their Ritual of Jewels degree. We are in the process of adding another new member. We have also been asked to update our personal biographies.

Two of our members inspired and rewarded us for a perfect attendance and also for taking an active roll in participation in our OnLine Delta chapter this past year with surprise gifts mailed by post to each.

One was a small yellow crotched rose and the other an embroidered card of a vase with a yellow rose.

The time and effort put into these precious keepsakes will always be cherished.

Socials

No Socials were presented in the last 2 months but are looking forward to those in the upcoming year.

Book Club

Our April/May book was "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay. It is told from both the perspective of a 10 yr old girl whose family is rounded up during the Vel D' Hiv in 1942 France, and an American journalist who presently lives in Paris. The "key" is the connection between both their stories which makes for a compelling read.

Koffee Klatch

May
It is said that what we say to ourselves is important so this month's Koffee Klatch topic is "What is the thing you say to yourself the most"? The responses were memorable but he one that struck me was one from a new member who uses this acronym before she "puts her foot in her mouth":

THINK: T is it True? H is it Helpful? I is it Inspiring? N is it Necessary? K is it Kind?

June
We were asked about tour random thoughts on the summer/winter solstice which provided some interesting memories shared.

OLD Website

Karon has added another face to our photos of Woman Of The Year and has designed our new website for 2015-2016 with the new clipart for our 2015-2016 international theme"Your Forever Friends" and added some great quotes such as "What are friends for? Fake friends come and go while real friends will stay with you forever."

On Line Upsilon

Online Upsilon is in our second calendar year! Our meeting in June was "located" on Long Island New York at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. (this was our social). We enjoyed "lunch" and "walking around" this beautiful bayfront historic property! It was hosted by this new President, Joan Nathan. We have two new activities to enjoy! We started a new bookclub called Beta Bookers. Our first book is a classical one: Emma by Jane Austen. Also, our service project is also new to our group. We encourage each other to volunteer in our community in a variety of ways, however our joint project is Kindness to Animals.

There are 8 of us in this online sisterhood. In between our meeting we enjoy share time-which includes sharing family activities- weddings, birthdays, holidays.

The officers this year are as follows:

President Joan
Vice President Wendy
Recording Secretary Barb
Corresponding Secretary Maggi
Respectfully submitted,

Joan
