Sharing Reports - July/August - 2013

On Line Beta

Online Beta continues to meet 2nd Sunday of each month. Last month we had an Ornament exchange and it was a hit. We shared who had our name and a picture of the ornament.

We have a program and social committee and we continue to have these each month. We had a Birthday party celebrating 15 years of being an Online chapter. Happy Birthday to us, Online Beta.

Plans are being made to attend Georgia's convention in September on Jekyll Island. We usually arrive couple days ahead of time and outings are planned where we get together as a group before convention.

Respectfully,

Madonna

Good Morning Sisters! OnlineXi has a wonderful new board who is chock full of great ideas! We are reviewing and updating our chapter traditions. We had a welcome ritual for Sheri who is returning to the chapter and had welcome rituals for two new members - Linda Sue and Carol.. And we will soon have a ROJ ritual for Chrissy. We are currently looking into legacy and envoy rituals for the near future. We are also working on adapting our butterfly as a possible t-shirt with?our chapter name and the year we were established (2010). We will be?having our Beginning Day on Sunday, August 25.??We continue our Rose, Bud Thorn and now Xi Chit Chat segments to help us?keep up to date with what is going on in one another's lives. This month's program is on Adoption.

Happy Summer to all of you and our fellow online chapters,

OLT has been enjoying a relaxed summer like most of the other chapters.

We had welcoming rituals for two new members - Linda Sue and Carol.

Of course, even though it was summer, we still did our service clicks ever ?day like most of the other on line chapters.

We had a fun virtual trip to Universal Studios in Florida to the Harry Potter area.

Our recording secretary is trying out the new on line form for chapter ?minutes. So far, so good. ??We read, read, read with this month's selection being The Cookie Jar.

Our programs have been set up for the year with a different 'you light up ?my world' type song each month.

For years, we have a posted word for the day and literary and historical ?notes. Sometimes a lengthy discussion follows a posting.

Our new board has been busy planning the new year, and getting volunteers?for the new year. I'm sure?this must be a busy time for all the online chapters.

For Service , a report was done on prevention of child abuse.

Our bio-keepers are busy gathering new pictures from our members and having?them update their?Bios so we can have an updated roster.

We have had visitors visiting and we also have two new members.

Our social was a walk through a rose garden and naturally we had a glass of?wine. During the walk we had a history of roses and some interesting facts?on the meaning of rose colors.

Our recipe committee sent out some recipes using strawberries , what a great?combination roses and strawberries.??For our program we watched videos on our theme, one was Debbie Boone singing?to Liz Taylor. After the video

There was participation in how does Online Beta "Light up your Life".

A gathering is being plan in Georgia at their State convention. It will be?at Jekyll Island and should be lots of fun.

Best wishes for a new sorority year!

Thank you,

Sisters: I love the interesting emails, enjoy hearing about you, your families, how long you've been in BSP and so on. The food sounds so great!! Love the ideas for opening day.

Our chapter has continued our monthly meetings. We've learned some history lessons, some scrap booking ideas and traveled together. We've shared our joys, our troubles, new additions to families and loss of special people and pets. Some members chat a lot and others are quiet but we all come together monthly and enjoy our Kappa meetings.

Best wishes for a new sorority year!

Hi Sisters. I am really enjoying reading everyone’s sharing report. OLOmicron is a fairly new chapter with all new sisters so we are really unfamiliar with how everything is done. Reading the sharing reports is helping me with ideas to better OLO. If anyone would like to share tips and what not im all eyes! lol! Thanks again for sharing!!!

Cynthia, OLO President

On Line Delta June 2013 Sharing Report
Greetings from OLD.

We have had a change in the position of Secretary from Heather to Nancy-Kathy due to unexpected surgery. It has been a busy time for our new President, Karon, setting up the chairman (chairwomen) and presenters for the coming year.

Our June Program was "powerful," using our International theme "Light Up Your Life", Val began with Debbie Boone's 1977 Grammy winning hit song "You Light Up My Life." She then shared some?inspirational quotes to "light up our lives" along with flower photos, such as "People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their?true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within."--Elizabeth Kubler Ross. Another, "There are two ways of spreading light....To be the Candle or the Mirror that reflects it."--Edith Wharton. We were asked to invoke some of our own inspirational quotes or thoughts and explaining why they especially resonated with us.

Flooding became a worry for our Canadian sisters in Alberta Canada, especially Calgary, but thankfully no damage was done to immediate families.

Our June Social was lit up with birthday candles on individual cupcakes with various flavors and colors. We learned about the history of birthday candles and the superstitions associated with them. We were asked to share some of our own significant birthday traditions and did some of our birthday wishes come true. The June KK (Koffee Klatsch) centered around our favorite way to have a vacation. The top vacation choice was ship cruising with motor home 'camping' a close second. Several of our members have given up the traditional built home for an adventurous lifestyle of RVing the countryside in their own country as well as to a foreign one.
