Sharing Reports - April//May - 2015

On Line Kappa

It is my hope all our sisters have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day. Our chapter has added members, we usually get their names by sharing our love of BSP chapters with them; then they visit a couple of our online meetings then decide for themselves about joining. A couple of our sisters once were involved in land chapters but had taken a LOA and now felt they wanted to rejoin BSP and have enjoyed the online chapter experience.

Our vice president does do pledge training and reports progress at our meetings. We used to have members visit to make up meetings but they did not wish to be active members in our chapter only 'visit' so as a chapter we decided that if a visitor has no interest in our chapter other than as a make up meeting, we no longer have them visit.

Online Kappa has had our usual monthly meetings with interesting programs and socials. We visit after the meeting and throughout the month. Our social chair, Bonnie had a wonderful Founders Day social for us with of course great food! We have enjoyed several birthdays, anniversaries and the joy of family celebrations together recently.

A big thanks to the members who have stepped forward to accept officer positions in cyber council! I enjoyed the cyber council celebration of Founders Day too. I look forward to the other sharing reports and the installation of officers.

Respectfully submitted,
Mary

Vice President Lucille has been completing training for our new members and making arrangements for the Ritual of Jewels degree to be given to our “graduated” pledges.

The March program presented instructed us how to protect our family tree from great danger and/or evacuation from fire or storm. We received some great tips and the program had many of us wondering if we were prepared enough for disaster.

Our voluntary Book Club discussed The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty. The next book for May will be Sarah’s Key by Tatiana Rosnay.

Our Koffee Klatch for March was presented by Joanne on the topic of International Women’s Day, which has become an official holiday in some countries.

  April 2015

Vice President Lucille has completed training for our new members and we celebrated many Rituals this month.

The program this month program was given by Karon on Friendships and how they affect our health and our lives.

Service Chairman Hilda reported on Dangerous First Aid Mistakes.

The Koffee Klatch this month was presented by Hilda on Beta Sigma Phi in California. She described California’s eight Area Councils, the traveling between areas. In closing she requested recipes of original cocktails for Founder’s Day.

We held our election of officers. The new officers are: President - Val, Vice President - Lucille, Recording Secretary - Deborah. Our Cyber Council representatives will be: Val, Evelyn, and Taneisha.

Our April social was our Founder’s Day celebration. It was a fun packed day and was fantastic as always. It began with Breakfast at Hilda’s then a wonderful luncheon and Ritual of Jewels for our new members. Val announced the new theme for sorority year 2015-2016. Our Woman of the Year was revealed. We are pleased that the selection, in a close race, was Lucille.

On Line Theta

This is my first month back on Cyber Council after being away for several years.  Glad there are some new faces and nice to see some familiar names.

Online Theta had election of officers for the new term and welcomed Carolyn as our new president.  Thank you to Linda for all of your hard work in keeping the chapter together and focused. Along with the new officers and committees, we will have new special sisters for the coming year.  It is always fun to find out who your special person is that you can “treat” for the coming year.

We have a lot of readers in our group so the book club generates lots of interest in commenting on a selected book or anything that you have read lately.

Our prayer list keeps members advised of the thoughts and prayers for others connected to our group.

Hoping that the weather will settle down in all corners to allow for the enjoyment of the end of Spring and beginning of Summer.

  Beta hugs from Oregon,
  Vivian

We had our Founder’s day, and Kandy shared it with Cyber Council and we received complements from the sisters that viewed the web page.

In March Robin and Diana gave the social on Saint Patrick’s day we went Pub crawling and ate Irish food. There was an Irish pub playing country music and some thought that was hilarious.  Fun was had by all that attended and some even thought they would have to crawl back home.

Karen and Mary gave us a program on Pet ownership. We learned benefits of pets, they shared web sites of Online Pet adoption guides and how to donate to animals from the comfort your own home and without using any money.

National Pet month is in May and is a good time to recognize your vet’s good work.  Let’s hear it for veterinarians, they perform valuable service and its time that they got their applause.

Sandy sent out recipes and shared a craft with us.  We learned how to color rice put some in a mason jar and put a votive candle inside.  Would make a good centerpiece, using several with different color rice. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  Hugs,
Madonna
