Bettina visited our Chapter at the February meeting and enjoyed our format.

Jennifer did a program on the Inuit people and their art forms.  Members loved it.

Everybody is excited about spring almost being here.

Most are vacation bound for Spring Break including Karen I. heading to Austin.

Our Chapter is Recognizing - INTL Women's Day tomorrow -

#BalanceforBetter is the theme for this year's International Women's Day, which is observed each year on March 8. The 2019 initiative is aimed at gender equality, a greater awareness of discrimination and a celebration of women's achievements, according to the International Women's Day website.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Spring.

Karen, Rep for Online Eta Chapter

Our January 2019 program had us visiting the Petrified Forest in the Northeast corner of Arizona.  We learned how a log becomes petrified and all of it’s original plan material is filled/replaced by minerals.

For our February program, we were introduced to an organization called IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network).  This network changed it’s name to Family Promise in 2003.  They provide programs for transitional housing, childcare, and family mentoring.  They also provide shelter, meals, housing, and job placement support.

Our chapter is in the midst of planning a Reunion in Flagstaff, AZ in May.  Sister Judy is busy planning the events for our weekend getaway.  I am looking forward to attending!

Wishing everyone a great March – Happy St Patrick’s Day too!

Beta hugs,

Chris

The Executive Board met in the week preceding the meeting.  We discussed the appointment of a new Corresponding Secretary while Coco is on Leave of Absence.

Karen reported that we have no visitors for our meeting. She continued the reading for the Book of Beta Sigma Phi with The Order of the Rose.

This month we vote for our Valentine Sweetheart. Votes are due by Monday at 8pm. Please send your vote to Karen and Sandra.

Votes were tallied and on Valentines day, Charity was announced as the valentine sweetheart.

PROGRAM: Mini was our presenter. She gave us a look at German breads.

SOCIAL: Sandra was our January hostess. We enjoyed a trip to the Florence Lauderdale Public Library in her hometown of Florence, Alabama. We had lunch in the Bookmarks Cafe located in the library.

Cheryl has received some names from International for perspective members and invitations sent.  No responses yet, but will follow up.

Social:  Beverly was the hostess of the Tacky Tea Party.  A great time was had by all.

Book Review:   Marcia reviewed the lastest book by Danielle Steele, Beauchamp Hall.

Recipe:  Beverly shared her recipe for Sweet Potato Egg Casserole.  Sounds like it would be an interesting recipe for a change.

Program:  Marcia did her program on how to go about choosing a Valentine Queen and a Woman of the Year for the chapter.  They are important details when bestowing such an honor.

Date:  February 11, 2019

Service:  Kathy reminded members to keep on clicking on our sponsored sites.

The Birthdays, Anniversaries, and Milestones for the month were posted.

Social:  Carolyn entertained us to a “Game Day” where we learned to play Mexican Train and Phase 10.  It was a great day with lots of good food and even better company.

Book Review:   Carolyn did her book review on the Annie’s Attic mystery series.  This was new to many of us.

Program:  Carolyn presented her program on the meaning and history of Valentine’s Day.

Unfinished Business:  We all went to high tea at the Ritz Carlton and watched while Krissie was crowned our Valentine Queen.

New Business:  Members were asked to send nominations for Woman of the Year to Cheryl

Now we are getting ready for Spring, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter.

OLT have been quiet lately. We welcome two more Sisters, Shawn and Lisa. We are so excited to have them in our chapter.

We've also have had a former sister who has gone to visit her heavenly family, another Sister who has had a son visit his heavenly family, and another, who is MAL, lose her sister.

We as a chapter have decided that the current officers will stay on for another year. All we need to do is have our confirmation meeting.

We also communicate almost every day, play a themed bingo game, and enjoy talking to each other.
