• We have added 2 new members and are super excited about our newest additions.  We had a visitor from a land chapter come and make up a meeting with us.  She likes us well enough that she may even stay a while.  Stella wants all sisters in Florida and outside Florida to attend this year's Florida convention.  She is helping with it and is so excited!!!  All Eta sisters wish everyone a Happy Spring, St. Patty's and Easter.  March is one busy month with spring break and all.  For most, there was no winter.  HAPPY SPRING ALL!!!

On Line Kappa

Online Kappa just had our January meeting and are currently voting on our chapter sweetheart and on what service project we will support this year. So to answer the question asked too, our chapter does have dues and we send out cards for birthdays and anniversaries from our chapter dues.

This meeting and our December meeting we had a couple of guests, Mimi and Jess (who was a member a few years ago and is interested in returning). In December we had a great social complete with a sleigh ride, wonderful dinner and we made ornaments afterward. We also learned about the organization Heifer International which is located in Arkansas- a couple of our members live not too far from it. We also heard about life in Luling Texas which isn't far from Lockhart Texas - a place with fantastic BBQ. We enjoy learning about the areas of the country where our members live and have travelled to. We recently had a lovely time in New Mexico - we travel a lot in our group. I love this about online chapters, we learn and experience so much with and from our sisters.

Happy January all!

Joanie, President, enjoyed a wonderful February meeting: Our member Billie receive her Exemplar Ritual.  How wonderful!  Billie also had exciting news for us: she is expecting a baby in April!  (her due date is my husband Bruce's birthday- April 24. How sweet is that?!)

We "met" at a Gatsby Era Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York for a Valentine's Day Ball.  It was a most elegant evening.  Taylor Swift even visited (virtually-she has been there, however) and sang for us that evening.  Our Valentine's Day Queen Carrie Ackerman was crowned.

In January we added two new members. However, we did loose one member. We now have 8 members in Online Upsilon.  Wendy did host a rush in September, and the new members were added as a result of the rush. In December we had a Holiday Party and enjoyed sharing some delicious recipes!

We started a Beta Booker Club (book club) however we do not have any one interested in becoming the chairman.

Carrie has been doing a reading from the Beta Sigma Phi Handbook.  She does this in the beginning of our meetings.

Respectfully submitted,
Joanie

• Good Saturday afternoon sisters!

Online Kappa has been busy with our socials and programs: most recently we had a Mardi Gras celebration complete with beads, food and fun! We have learned about different cultural traditions for bringing in the new year as well.

We have two new members ( these ladies had visited our chapter at my last report), we welcome Mimi and Jes. We crowned our chapter sweetheart - Beth who keeps up with all our chatter while she deals with some difficult health matters. We voted our support to the multiple sclerosis society as our chapter project which is very close to all of us as one of our sisters, Peggy deals with it.  We have a couple members with health concerns including a sister receiving treatment for cancer.

We also have two sisters who are expecting new additions to their families soon!

Our chapter has been working on keeping all sisters involved with chapter chatter and updates by having a question posed by one member to get some of our more quiet sisters talking more- I would say it has been successful thus far, I hope it continues to keep us in touch.

From our chapter to each of you, happy March!

The program this month will be presented by Carrie and will be on Diana Gabaldon and the Outlander series.   Our Jan Service Project is Sisters Remembering Sisters.  We thought during these trying times of catastrophic loss such as the flooding & tornadoes hitting us, we would like to remind you of the International Disaster Fund.     Online Beta's social for January was Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!  Happy Birthday dear OLB, Happy Birthday to you!   And many more ...  hard to believe that our chapter is 18 years old.  We had games and dancing by our board.     Our social was be a Valentine High Tea the  Valentine Queen Violet was announced at the end of the tea!     We also had three guest for our Feb meeting.     Sumbitted by: Kandy Carolyn Madonna

The last couple of months have presented new challenges for many people in our chapter. Arlene is back in a care facility as the wounds and her general strength have not improved enough for her to go home.  We had 1 member leave the chapter due to her other obligations and we have 1 member visiting us this month.
Our chapter sweetheart Cherie was crowned last month.

We are looking forward to new officer elections and some rituals that will be held shortly. There will be 3 of us from the chapter attending the International Convention in Kansas City in August.  I am not sure if there will be an online event planned but it would be nice to meet other online sisters that will be attending.

Are there other members from the chapters that will be attending?

The sisters of OLP send best wishes to all of you.

Membership: International has placed Vicki on "shut-in status" and on the"shut-in list" so that she can receive cards from BSP members. Also, she is eligible to receive her Exemplar degree.

In addition, Laurie is eligible for her Exemplar degree, and Cindy is eligible for her Master degree. Rituals will be done on line.

This month we have a guest at our chapter, Patricia B from Chula Vista, California.

Social: President Kathy took us on a train tour of Arizona. We enjoyed the lovely desert scenery and had a great meal while aboard the train. Then Kathy turned the stage to last year's Queen, Lib, who announced our Valentine Queen of 2016. (Drum roll) Congratulations Karen D!

Program: Marcia told us how she and Jerry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. On January 23, 2015 they began with a cruise to the Mexican Riviera, and each following month, they continued to celebrate with trips to various places. They ended their celebration on January 2016 with another cruise to Mexico. Way to go!

Recipe: Lib shared her recipe for Beefy-Mushroom Rice. This delicious recipe can be made in the oven or in a crock pot.

Book Review: Ann reviewed the book "Whiskey & Charlie by Annabel Smith. It's about the bond between two brothers who grew apart as teens and were estranged as adults. It poses an interesting question... Do we remember our past as it really was or as a means of justifying our shortcomings?

Beta Hugs,
