An old-fashioned Chocolate Party

DECORATIONS ..........................................................................................
An old-fashioned Chocolate Party

Now, why would anyone attend a chocolate party? To eat, of course! Therefore, your main focus of decoration should be centered on the dining tables or buffet table. A good color scheme for this party is pink and white. Tie pink and white balloons to the chairs and table ends - or string pink and white crepe paper. A bowl or two of fresh flowers is an ideal touch! Lace doilies and solid pink or flowered plates and napkins would also work well. If you have them, water glasses would be lovely, however, clear plastic glasses are also attractive.

Note: Anything with an old-fashioned Hershey Chocolate print would look perfect with the setting! Especially tins to hold the goodies!

INVITATIONS & NAMETAGS .....................................................................
An old-fashioned Chocolate Party

In keeping with the Hershey Chocolate motif, Hershey Kiss invitations and nametags would be fun! Just use foil cut in the shape of a kiss. For nametags, replace the "Hershey" on the white banner with the guest's name.

Candy bar wrappers can also be used for the invitations. The nametags, then, can have miniature chocolate bars glued to them. You can also use a chocolate chip cookie theme. Use brown construction paper cutout in circles and decorate with tiny chocolate chips. BEWARE: The chocolate chips can melt and fall off as the party progresses! J

ENTERTAINMENT ....................................................................................

Rather than an all out bash, this social should be kept subdued and semi-formal. Thus, the games and activities need to be rather calm. Not to mention, with all of the rich chocolate treats being consumed, not many will be able to get out of their chairs, let alone participate in physically demanding activities.

Table games work well, with chocolate kisses or candies being the ante for any card games. BINGO can be played with M&M's as the playing pieces. Whoever gets BINGO wins a candy bar or small bag of cookies. "Chocolate Checkers" is also amusing. Once again, M&M's can be used - two colors, only. Or silver and gold wrapped chocolate coins would work even better. The players are free to consume any pieces they jump!

An old-fashioned Chocolate Party

If there is a Godiva Chocolate Shoppe in your area, invite a representative to attend asking he/she to give a history of chocolate. Or, have one of your members research chocolate and give a brief history.

PARTY FAVORS ....................................................................................

Wrap small wooden blocks with the wrappers of miniature Hershey brand candy bars. Glue securely, and then attach a magnet to the back.
