Getting To Know You |

Different, thought-provoking, non-threatening questions can add a special & enjoyable touch to relationships within a group. This is an especially valuable exercise if you are entertaining another chapter, or having visitors at your meeting. It´s a creative way to find out more about each other. Here is a list of some of the questions you might consider using:
This exercise is a good way to organize introductions as well. Have people pair up, interview each other, and then use that information to introduce themselves to the rest of the group. No one seems to be quite as uncomfortable with this method of introduction as they are with the more traditional way of making each guest stand up and talk about herself. Another intriguing exercise is to ask each person to bring an object that has great significance to her to the meeting. As a means of introduction, each shows the article, and answers questions about it. [Each person should bring her article in a bag, and show it as her introduction comes around.] This same structure can be used with a favorite book, an important experience, a person who has had a major impact on that guest´s life. Brainstorm ideas within your chapter that might help you all get to know each other better, and in different ways than the normal structured meeting may allow. TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN ABOUT EACH OTHER! These activities can be very effective in bringing chapter members closer, or building a positive bond within a new chapter. Try it for yourselves--and have some enjoyable, exciting meetings! |
