"Mother's Day" Poem

I am sharing with you a poem which my late uncle wrote in 1989. Enjoy it and share it with the special woman who is near to you on Mother's Day.

Mother's Day

We set aside one day in May
To pay respect to all the mothers;
A mother is a special person
The likes of which there is non other.

But mothers should have our respect
On every day throughout the year,
We owe our very lives to her
Without her we would not be here.

Good mothers sacrifice a lot
To do their best for me and you,
And we should not forget the fathers
In June their day is coming too.

A mother's love is wide and deep
She'll always go the extra mile
A mother's love is strong and true
She'll do what's best for each dear child.

And so, we honor all the mothers
Those gone before, those living still
We wish them all the very best
According to God's holy will.
